On Saturday, April 17, approximately 600 Honeywell volunteers will join with hundreds of Valley volunteers to work on more than 90 community service projects throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area.

The Event: The Sixth Annual Make A Difference Day Arizona Serve-A-Thon.

WHO: Honeywell employees, their families and friends. Honeywell is the Title Sponsor for the event and has been each year since 1996.

WHAT: A day where hundreds of Honeywell employees will work with other Valley volunteers on community service projects such as painting and repairing low-income housing, sorting and packing food, cleaning alleys and painting over graffiti. In addition, participants will collect pledges for every hour they volunteer to raise money for Make A Difference, a year-round program that meets community needs through volunteer opportunities.

7:30 a.m. - Registration (Phoenix Civic Plaza and Glendale City Hall)
8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. - Opening Ceremonies (Phoenix Civic Plaza; The Glendale City Hall ceremony will be from 8 to 8:30 a.m.)
9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Community service projects
1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Closing celebration (Phoenix Civic Plaza only)

WHY: Honeywell has found Make A Difference to play a vital role in helping its employees become involved in the community, which fits in well with its goal to support volunteerism in the community.
