Juvenile Diabetes Walk
Phoenix - Oct. 31, 1998 -

Honeywell employees in the Valley joined thousands of other community members on Saturday. Oct. 31, in walking to find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes. Honeywell was the corporate sponsor for the walk, contributing $10,000. About 300 people raised about $31,000. In addition, Honeywell matched 50 cents for every dollar, bringing Honeywell's total to over $45,000 collected by employees.

John Dewane, Honeywell president emeritus, is the corporate recruitment chair for the Walk. "Honeywell cares about the community, and as an expression of that commitment, has asked me to spend my retirement working issues on behalf of Honeywell. I chose diabetes because of the children. We believe Honeywell should make a solid endeavor to enhance the quality of life where we reside," Dewane said.
